First off, I’m a blockhead. I have been soooo slow to adopt an affection for this bloggery that is soundandsubstance.wordpress.com. With the new year and all, we’re back on track and I’m hoping that we can be friends again. Please?
So much has happened since June, so there’s plenty to write about.
Okay… lets get through some highlights and we’ll have to revisit each later….
- I went to NYC with Sarah (my beautiful wife) on vacation in September. AMAZING/BUSY/WONDERFUL VACATION! It was great…
- We began the Redemption Project at Summit, which has us renovating a former night club into a more spacious, “slightly used” (and much needed) worship center! This is going to be an amazing blessing to enable us to serve Jesus well in the city… www.redemptionproject.net
- We had a wonderful Christmas Season at Summit Crossing as we dove into our study in the Gospel of Luke and we rocked out to “Dangerous King” by Daniel Renstrom (Love this guy and this song!)….
- I can’t believe we got back from Passion 2010 (check out 268generation.com if you’ve never heard of it) just over a week ago… It was a HUGE milestone in our lives as we feel Jesus calling us to worship Him more fervently and to be grateful servants. Can’t wait to see what the next year has for us! Stay tuned for a Passion 2010 download – we learned alot…
- Biggest tech thing that has happenned in our house lately are the new additions (drumroll please?)… macbook and imac
. I can’t explain how much I’ve wanted to switch from my crummy PC Desktop to these beautiful, sleek, user-friendly, music machines! I love the macs and can’t wait to pass on some great mac music links to you guys!
Whoo! We’ve had alot going on… I can’t wait to get my thoughts down on paper for you guys, but until then, here’s some other stuff I’m planning on covering…
- Using your macbook as your church’s Synth (One of my favorite music topics lately)
- Jarred’s Gear Wishlist
- “Worship Thru…” – Gearing up for our first in-depth worship discussion, I thought it would be awesome to explore worship and different expressions of it through midi/tech jargon and images. I am sooo excited about this topic. Pray that I follow up, cuz it could be alot of fun!
- Review of Pro Tools 8
